The rules for using Syed's Library: your account, borrowing books, weekly charges and what we expect of each other.

1. About these terms

These Terms govern your use of the Syed's Library website and library service (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to them together with our Privacy Policy, Wallet Terms, Refund & Cancellation Policy, Borrowing & Late Fee Policy, Warning & Blocking Policy and Plans & Pass Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not create an account.

2. Who can use the service

• You must be at least 18 years old, or use the service under the supervision of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms for you.
• You must give accurate details and keep them up to date. One person, one account.
• You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure.

3. Borrowing books

• Books are lent, not sold. They remain the property of Syed's Library.
• Every book is due the coming Sunday. You may keep it for another week, and every further week is charged again.
• The weekly charge for each book you hold is deducted from your wallet every Monday at 12:00 AM (Indian Standard Time).
• You must keep a minimum balance in your wallet for the books you hold, as set out in the Wallet Terms.
• You must return books in the condition you received them. Lost or damaged books are handled under the Borrowing & Late Fee Policy.

4. Prices and changes

Prices, the minimum balance per book and plan terms are shown on the website and may change. A change never applies to a charge that has already been made, and we show current prices before you borrow or buy.

5. Reviews and content you submit

Only members who have borrowed a book can review it. You keep ownership of your review but allow us to display it on the website. Do not post unlawful, abusive or misleading content; we may remove it.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to access other members' accounts, interfere with the service, scrape it at a harmful rate, or test its security without our written permission.
• Do not use the service for unlawful activity or to pass money to other people. The wallet is closed-loop (see Wallet Terms).

7. Suspension and closure

We may pause an account under the Warning & Blocking Policy, or close it for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms. You may close your account at any time; unspent money you paid is refunded as described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

8. Our responsibility

We take care to keep the service accurate and available, but it is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

9. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Please first raise any complaint through our Grievance Redressal process; unresolved disputes are subject to the courts at our registered location.
